Why Do I Feel Tired All the Time?

Constant fatigue that doesn't improve with rest is your body waving a red flag. Physical tiredness and emotional tiredness are different things — and most people who are 'tired all the time' are dealing with both. Your body might be fine, but your mind and emotions are running a marathon every day.

Possible causes

1. Emotional exhaustion masquerading as physical tiredness — processing emotions takes real energy
2. Poor sleep quality even when you're getting enough hours (screen time, anxiety, inconsistent schedule)
3. Depression — persistent fatigue is one of the most common and overlooked symptoms
4. Chronic stress keeping your cortisol elevated, which disrupts sleep and recovery
5. Physical factors: iron deficiency, thyroid issues, vitamin D deficiency, dehydration
6. Overstimulation from constant screen time, noise, and social input without recovery time

When to be concerned

If fatigue is persistent despite adequate rest, if it's accompanied by other symptoms (weight changes, mood changes, brain fog), or if it's significantly affecting your daily life — see a doctor to rule out medical causes, then consider mental health support.

What you can do right now

1. Audit your sleep hygiene: consistent bedtime, no screens 30 min before bed, cool dark room. The basics matter more than any supplement.
2. Check your emotional energy spending. Where are you overextending? What drains you that you could reduce?
3. Move more, not less. Counterintuitive, but regular moderate exercise actually increases energy levels over time.
4. Hydrate properly. Even mild dehydration causes fatigue. Aim for consistent water intake throughout the day.
5. Schedule real rest — not Netflix, not scrolling. Actual nothing. Naps. Sitting in the sun. Letting your brain idle.
