A lot of men were taught to keep their feelings to themselves and just push through. These journal prompts for men are direct and practical, giving you a private place to sort out stress, relationships, purpose, and the emotions you do not usually talk about.
How to use these prompts
- •Think of it as clearing your head, not writing a diary. Bullet points and short answers are fine.
- •Try writing right after a workout, a commute, or a stressful day, when things are already on your mind.
- •Start with the practical sections if the feelings prompts feel awkward at first.

Tips that make it stick
- •Writing about feelings is not weakness. It is just thinking more clearly on paper.
- •Try going one level deeper than 'stressed' or 'fine.' Naming the exact feeling, like frustrated, disrespected, or lonely, makes it a lot easier to deal with.
- •If you are struggling with low mood, drinking more than usual, or thoughts of not being here, talk to a doctor or reach out to a crisis line.
- •Keep your journal somewhere private so you can be fully honest.
